- Our first cleaning method is the steam autoclave. The autoclave uses steam under high pressure to destroy all living microorganisms. The tools remain sealed in their pouches until they are needed for your treatment. They are opened only in front of the patients.
Step 2: Instrument Classification
One thing many people do not know is that dental instruments are divided into different categories. Each type has its own way of cleaning.
- Critical instruments: Things like surgical tools, which are directly in contact with oral tissue or bone, are sterilised without exception after every single use. They are most important to be cleaned first. There is a huge risk of spreading infection as these tools have a direct connection with the mouth.
- Semi-critical instruments: Tools like mouth mirrors and trays have less effect on the mouth. But these also undergo full sterilisation at our advanced dental clinic in Paschim Vihar. We do not take shortcuts just because the instrument has less impact.

They also wash their hands again after removing gloves. Hand hygiene is a constant practice. This means the hands are to be washed after every single treatment. Sometimes it’s important to wash after every single step, too. Sanitisers are applied for extra care.

Many dental treatments can create aerosols. Aerosols are very small particles that float in the air. These particles can affect the overall cleanliness of the treatment space if they remain in the air for a longer time.
